Acting Corporal (Ag Cpl) Clinton Glasgow and Woman Police Constable (WPC) Natalie Dixon of T&T Police Service (TTPS) were the best overseas athletes at the Guyana Police Force Sports.
The 68th anniversary of the event, hosted by Commissioner of Police Guyana Force Clifton Hicken at Eve Leary Grounds in Georgetown, Guyana, was held over three days (July 25, 26 and 28) and saw members of the TTPS Athletic Section compete against fellow officers in the Guyana Police Service. The other team from Suriname was unable to attend.
Ag Cpl Glasgow and WPC Dixon were part of an eight-member team with Superintendent Raymond Thom serving as head of delegation and managed by Inspector Joshua Pierre, the general secretary of the Police Sports Club.
Glasgow was also named second runner-up men's overall after excelling in three events. He was second javelin and third in both the shot put and discus throw events.
Dixon competed in fourth events, winning the javelin throw, was fourth in the 400 metres, fifth in the shot put and eighth in the long jump.
The rest of the team included WPC Nikita Renne, PC Che Hart, PC Javan Lynch, and PC Johann Ferdinand.
Their efforts help the TTPS finish second behind Guyana.
