Tobago Education District reigned as champion of the National Primary Schools Track and Field Championships at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, Port-of-Spain on May 28. The Tobago athletes amassed 489 points to win the title for a third straight year.
Port-of-Spain (PoS) and Environs had to settle for second (446) with Caroni (286), St George East (283), St Patrick (276), South Eastern (252), Victoria (245) and North Eastern (202) following behind.
Gloria Henry shone on the day for Tobago capturing gold in the girls' Under-13 400 metres (1:01.74) high jump (1.51) and long jump (5.08). The Signal Hill Government student secured a fourth gold medal when she helped Tobago to win the girls' U-13 4x100m relay (52.03).
Henry's treble individual gold earned her the female award in her age-group and as well the top girl (Victrix Ludorum) at the meet. Another Tobago teammate Kereem Moses won the girls' U-13 100m (13.05) and 200m (24.94).
Jeremiah Hector also starred for the Tobagonians as he was named "Most Outstanding Boy" (Victor Ludorium) along with Josiah Katien (PoS).
