Hope, Rajah lose T&T Red Force places

Kyle Hope and Isa­iah Ra­jah have been dropped from the T&T Red Force Re­gion­al 4-Day squad set to face the Lee­ward Is­lands Hur­ri­canes in their round two match at the Bri­an Lara Crick­et Acad­e­my (BLCA) in Tarou­ba, start­ing to­mor­row.

Hope was dropped af­ter a long string of poor per­for­mances dat­ing back to the Colo­nial Life Su­per-50 se­ries.

How­ev­er, vet­er­an re­gion­al bats­man Ja­son Mo­hammed is back in the squad with Kissoon­dath Ma­gram al­so se­lect­ed fol­low­ing cred­i­ble per­for­mances in the tri­al match­es just ahead of the start of the re­gion­al tour­na­ment.

The Red Force drew their open­ing match against the Scor­pi­ons at the same venue on the week­end.

Speak­ing dur­ing a prac­tice ses­sion yes­ter­day at the Na­tion­al Crick­et Cen­tre in Cou­va, Joshua Da Sil­va, who score a cen­tu­ry in the open­ing match, said the Red Force will be look­ing to build on the sol­id start to the sea­son.

“I don’t ex­pect much to change,” Da Sil­va told Guardian Me­dia.

“We’re just go­ing out there to play the crick­et we want to play. We’re gelling well as a team so we’re all go­ing to look to do what we did, bat­ting wise and just hope­ful­ly, we could get 20 wick­ets and win the game.”
