New Under-14 boys' and girls' champions will be crowned when the Sagicor Junior Tennis Tournament serves off Saturday at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua, as both Josiah Hills and Makeda Bain will compete in another division.
Both dominated their respective divisions at almost every tournament they competed in, but they will take on another challenge in the U-16 division with their opponents being players who were elevated with them, as well as other older players who have been competing in that division.
On the list of participants, Bain will have to contend with Madison Khan, Lilly Mohammed, Charde Sylvester, Shiloh Walker and Z'kereyea Wilson Wade while Hills will also have his plate full with Navindra Arjune, Connor Carrington, Jonathan De Gannes, Nirav Dougdeen, Javed Dowlat, Jovan Garibana, Justin Horsford, Jacob Jacelon, Kaeri Mukora, Darius Rahaman and Jaysean Wells.
The U-14 girls division will feature Karissa Mohammed, one of three daughters of former tennis queen Shenelle Mohammed, Anneleise Orr, Cyra Ramcharan, Suri Ramcharan and Cherdine Sylvester, while a large contingent awaits the boys' equivalent, some of whom include Noah Blanc, Jack Brown, Favian Dates, Oliver Harragin, Sanjay Lake and Ryan Steuart.
Apart from the U-14 and U-16, the other categories that will be up for grabs will be U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-18.
