Cham­pi­on train­er John O’Brien’s un­beat­en three-year-old Head­lin­er will be get­ting set to win this year’s “Triple Crown” when he goes to post on Fri­day in the fea­ture event—the Grade One Guineas over 1,800 me­tres on the main track at San­ta Rosa Park, Ari­ma.

O’Brien ex­pects to con­tin­ue his great form af­ter win­ning the Grade One - Tan­gle­wood Stakes in Bar­ba­dos in Feb­ru­ary and then set his sight on the first three-year-old fea­ture, the Chief Com­man­der Clas­sic over 1,600 me­tres on the turf track at San­ta Rosa Park and he was vic­to­ri­ous.

Head­lin­er has won his last five races im­pres­sive­ly and will be dif­fi­cult to beat in the Grade One event on the main track.

O’Brien has two hors­es en­gaged, the oth­er Syd­ney, who will race along­side the top three-year-old. The top con­di­tion­er could well be seek­ing to land an­oth­er one-two in this event.

The Michael Lutch­man-trained Vari­ante and the Jonathan Ly­der-con­di­tioned duo of Show­time and Supreme Leader are ex­pect­ed to run well.

When en­tries were tak­en yes­ter­day, a to­tal of 40 hors­es were con­sid­ered for the Ari­ma Race Club’s (ARC) six-race card. Post time is 12.45 pm.
