In­ter­na­tion­al Mas­ter (IM) Vish­nu Singh and FIDE Mas­ter (FM) Joshua John­son head a pow­er­house 10-play­er na­tion­al team bound for the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbek­istan.

​The pre­mier glob­al tour­na­ment, run­ning from Sep­tem­ber 16-27, brings to­geth­er the world’s top chess na­tions. Team T&T’s open squad fea­tures some of the coun­try’s high­est-rat­ed mas­ter play­ers, with IM Singh and FM John­son joined by sea­soned FIDE Mas­ters Quinn Cabralis and Ryan Harp­er, along­side Can­di­date Mas­ter (CM) Enen Sa Tefa Ab Khafra. To­geth­er, the men’s line­up brings deep in­ter­na­tion­al ex­pe­ri­ence, sharp tac­ti­cal depth, and proven ti­tle-win­ning pedi­gree to the top boards.

​The women’s di­vi­sion fea­tures an equal­ly for­mi­da­ble mix of mas­ter-lev­el skill and sharp young tal­ent. Woman FIDE Mas­ter (WFM) Ysvett Her­moso leads the charge along­side Woman Can­di­date Mas­ters (WCM) Shemi­lah James and Zara La Fleur, with Saman­tha Dol­ly and Arad­hana Ram­nar­ine Singh com­plet­ing a strong, well-bal­anced tac­ti­cal unit.

​Man­ag­ing op­er­a­tions on the ground in Samarkand will be del­e­gate Sandy Razark and team man­ag­er Mer­lene La Fleur, while in­ter­na­tion­al ar­biter Sadiqah Razark will serve on the of­fi­cial tour­na­ment of­fi­ci­at­ing pan­el.

​With fi­nal prepa­ra­tions un­der­way, the Trinidad and To­ba­go Chess As­so­ci­a­tion (TTCA) is call­ing on fans across the twin-is­land re­pub­lic to ral­ly be­hind the na­tion­al team as they fly the red, white, and black on the world's biggest chess stage.
