The T&T Olympic Committee (TTOC) has named the national team who will compete at the Pan American Games, from October 20 to November 5 in Santiago, Chile.
Heading the 100-member team which includes 64 athletes and 36 officials is the 2019 Pan Am gold medallist in the men's sprint event, cyclist Nicholas Paul and fellow rider Teniel Campbell, the reigning double silver medallist (road race and time trial).
The other members of the cycling team are Alexi Costa, Akil Campbell, Kwesi Browne, and Zion Pulido.
T&T will be represented in 12 sporting disciplines including athletics, basketball 3x3, cycling, swimming, badminton, boxing, canoe, golf, gymnastics, field hockey, table tennis and weight lifting.
A strong six-member athletics team will feature at Santiago 2023 which includes 2018 Commonwealth Games women's 100m champion Michelle Lee-Ahye, and Kyle Greaux and Jerod Elcock, who won silver at Lima 2019 as part of the 4x100m team.
Nikoli Blackman, who recently copped silver in the men's 50m freestyle event at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Netanya, Israel, is part of the swim team which includes fellow rising star Zarek Wilson and experienced Cherelle Thompson.
Stacy Santana, the administrative officer at the TTOC, will lead the T&T delegation as Chef De Mission. She first served as Chef at the first-ever Caribbean Games last year in Guadeloupe. Santana will be assisted by Jariel Mc Collin with Melanie Gulston, serving as press attache.
The medical staff consists of Chief Medical Officer Rudranath Ramsawak, Doctor Rhonda Watkins, an Olympian, physiotherapists Karielle De Bique and Jelani Baptiste and three massage therapists Brent Elder, Odessa Chandler and Derek Ashby-Williams.
