Top-ranked Under-16 player and national champion Aalisha Alexis captured the girls' singles title when the Sub Regional (SR)4 Under-16 Tennis Masters Finals concluded at the National Racket Centre, Orange Grove Road, Tacarigua on Sunday.
In an all-T&T decider, Alexis powered past Keesa Lee Young 6-2, 6-4.
In the semifinals, Lee Young defeated Antigua and Barbuda's Kianna King 6-1, 6-2 and Lee Young battled past Barbadian Serena Bryan 5-7, 6-1, 10-8.
Ethan Wong came up short in his bid to make it a T&T singles sweep after he fell to Barbadian Stephen Slocombe 5-7, 2-6 in the boys' final.
On Saturday in the semifinals, Slocombe beat local player Shae Millington 3-6, 6-1, 10-3 while Wong outlasted fellow T&T player, Sebastian Byng 6-1, 4-6, 10-3.
Slocombe was the lone player to win the triple-crown after he paired with Serena Bryan to beat Aila Koorndijk and Yannick Issa, in the Mixed Doubles final.
This after he won the Boys Doubles' with Issa, 2-6, 6-4, 10-4 against Wong and Sebastian Sylvester on Saturday.
