T&T's Abeni Pro­cope brought home a sil­ver medal af­ter she placed sec­ond in her cat­e­go­ry at the 2019 In­ter­na­tion­al Fed­er­a­tion Body Build­ing (IFFB) Di­a­mond Cup Saint Mar­tin/St Maarten Cham­pi­onships which came off at Son­es­ta Ma­ho Beach Re­sort and Casi­no, St Maarten on Sun­day.

The con­test was a great op­por­tu­ni­ty for IF­BB Elite Pro’s to earn their spot in the 2019 IF­BB Elite World Cham­pi­onships.

As well, points that go to­wards the 2019 IF­BB Elite Pro World Rank­ings were award­ed to the top ath­letes.

Com­pet­ing in the Women's Body Fit­ness, Pro­cope who was a dou­ble win­ner at the Darcey Cup and Pro Di­a­mond Cup in Bar­ba­dos last month had to set­tle for the run­ner-up spot with a score of five be­hind Ja­maican Kris­ten Mc Gre­gor (four), while An­tigua and Bar­bu­da's Sheer-Rhon­da Brath­waite got the third spot with eight points.

The Open Men's Body­build­ing cat­e­go­ry was won by Daniel Dami­an Gor­vey from Grana­da with nine points, ahead of Spain's Omar Pelle­jero Saurez (18), Guyana's Selvon What­ley (30) and T&T's Lee Beat­rice (33).

The Men’s Physique cat­e­go­ry was won by the pop­u­lar Dmytro Horo­bets from Ukraine ahead of Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic's Edgar Mindy and France's Jean Guer­by De Sulme.

T&T duo, Bren­don Fran­cis and Dex­ter Si­mon, were ninth and 11th place fin­ish­ers re­spec­tive­ly.

The pop­u­lar Biki­ni ath­letes were back at it as Rus­sia’s Yana Kuznetso­va took first while Ja­maica’s Av­er­nell Mod­est fin­ished in sec­ond and Hun­gary’s Ka­ri­na Gavriko­va took third.

The Well­ness ti­tle went to Cu­ra­cao’s Dey­da­nia Ro­driguez fol­lowed by Mex­i­can Cyn­thia Gon­za­lez Ze­sati and Brazil­ian Is­abelle Pereira.

In the morn­ing ses­sion on Sun­day, which com­prised am­a­teurs, 45-year-old Beat­rice won the Men's Open Body­build­ing ahead of Desmond Pat­ter­son of Sint Maarten, with T&T's Kris­ton Bar­ry Copli­ah, third.

Next up for the T&T pro­fes­sion­als is the IFFB Elite Pro com­pe­ti­tion in Aru­ba, the Gio­van­ni Arendz Clas­sic, Au­gust 17-18, where, the T&T Pro ath­letes will go af­ter podi­um fin­ish­es.
