David Agard scored six goals to lead T&T's 15 and Under boys' team to a crushing 20-3 triumph against host Barbados when the water polo segment 32nd Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation (CCCAN) Championships continued at the Aquatic Centre in St Michael, Barbados, on Friday.
Nathan Hinds and Miguel Greene both scored hat-tricks, Christian Chin Lee and Jonathan Matthews added two each and Malachi Valdez-Brown, Josh Fuller, Justin Hackett and Benjamin Chow Quan got one in the lopsided victory to improve T&T to a perfect 2-0 record in the three-team round-robin series, at the end of which the top team advances straight to Sunday's final.
On Thursday, T&T splashed off its campaign with a lopsided 14-2 beating of Puerto Rico, with Hinds scoring a beaver-trick and Greene and Agard three each. Chin Lee added two goals and Jerelle Pierre and Matthews one apiece in the win.
In Thursday's other match, Puerto Rico whipped Barbados 10-2.
On Saturday, T&T faces Puerto Rico again from 9 am before closing out round-robin play versus Barbados, from 5.30 pm.
Should T&T win the round-robin stage, they will advance straight to final on Sunday afternoon from 5.30 pm. However, a second or third-place finish will see the T&T squad playing in the lone semi-final also on Sunday, but from 9 am.
