?T&T's Daniel Ramoutarsingh, and team mate Tomy Drissi driving for Rocketsports Racing, had another good finish in the Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am Series.
On Sunday, the duo chalked up two of the top three podium spots, with Drissi placing second and Ramoutarsingh third, in Round Six of the series at Watkins Glen Circuit. Drissi who was on top the standings, clinched the title after round seven of the eight, scheduled to be run at Bluegrass Motorsports Park, was cancelled.
He tallied up 29 points for the second place finish which gives him a total of 172 Drivers' Championship points, 39 points over second place Tony Ave. This was enough to crown him champion with only one race to go this season, after the Hollywood native claimed one win, four podiums, and six top-five finishes. Ramoutarsingh, on the other hand, moves up two spots in the Championship standings after earning 25 points.
The T&T driver currently sits third with 96 points, 37 points behind second place Ave, and is also the highest rookie in the standings. The race was won by Jim Goughary Jr. He is not among the top five of the standings, however. Meanwhile, the series will conclude its 2009 Championship at the venue that has held the most Trans-Am races–Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin–September 18-20.
