Hockey
T&T's men's hockey team went under 7-1 to New Zealand at the Major Dhyan Ghand National Stadium. The women suffered a worse fate, being slammed 11-0 by champions Australia. The Kiwis took an early lead before Wayne Legerton equalised for T&T. However, New Zealand, the 2002 silver medallist regained the lead and stayed in control for the rest of the match. They led 3-1 at halftime. Coach Eric Verboom said lack of fitness let his team down.
