A 50-year-old Kel­ly Vil­lage man was found hang­ing in the hold­ing cell of the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion on Wednes­day night, hours af­ter he was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of co­caine.The man, iden­ti­fied as Cae­sar Ramdeo, was dis­cov­ered dead around 7 pm when po­lice were mak­ing rou­tine checks of the cells, the T&T Guardian was told.Ramdeo was ar­rest­ed on Wednes­day dur­ing a po­lice ex­er­cise held by the North­ern Di­vi­sion at Thomas Trace, Arou­ca. The ex­er­cise was led by ASP James.Po­lice said Ramdeo, who was one of sev­er­al men held dur­ing the ex­er­cise, used his shirt and jeans to fash­ion a makeshift noose, which he tied to the bur­glarproof­ing bars near the roof of the cell.Emer­gency Health Ser­vices were called in but Ramdeo was al­ready dead.
