Lalonde Gordon sped to his second win in as many weeks copping the men's 200m title at the U Albany Great Dane Indoor Classic in New York, USA on Friday. The double Olympic bronze medallist crossed the line in 20.91 to finish ahead of Andre Walsh (Maryland E Shore/Jamaica) 21.38 and American David Verburg (George Mason) 21.55.
Gordon missed his personal best of 20.58, set last year and also the national mark of 20.35 held by Ato Boldon. On January 11 at the Gotham Cup, held at the same venue, Gordon took the rarely run 300m race in a meet record of 32.48. Jeanelle Ovid (Morgan State) missed out on a medal in the women's high jump finished fourth with a distance of 1.65.
Fellow Olympic men's 4x400m bronze medal team member Jarrin Solomon captured the men's 600m at the on the first day of action at the Cherry and Silver Indoor invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday in 1:17.63.
At the Prairie Wolf Indoor Invitational, Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday Aaron Leung Woo-Gabriel was seventh in the men's 60m finals clocking 7.15 (7.16 in the heats).
