Re­yare Thomas (Iowa Cen­tral Com­mu­ni­ty Col­lege) sprint­ed to the 60m ti­tle at the 2012 Na­tion­al Ju­nior Col­lege In­door Track and Field Cham­pi­onships in Charleston, Illi­nois on the week­end. Thomas raced to gold in 7.37, a per­son­al best, which im­proved on her third place fin­ish in last year's 55m fi­nals. Thomas was al­so fifth in the women's 200m fi­nals in 24.89 and re­turned to help Iowa Cen­tral win the 4X400m re­lay fi­nals in 3:51:56. School-mate Dan-Neil Teles­ford was sixth in the men's 200m fi­nals (22.03). De­v­er­ly Rob­ley of But­ler Coun­ty was 16th in the men's 800m heats in 2:00:93 and help Bul­ter to 12th in the4 X800m re­lay fi­nals (8:06:12). Iowa Cen­tral were the over­all cham­pi­ons win­ning the ladies com­pe­ti­tion with 187 points and the men's with 107. Bar­ton Coun­ty was sec­ond in the men's stand­ing on 82 points.

Stew­art im­proves na­tion­al weight record

Em­manuel Stew­art (Mor­gan State) im­proved his own men's na­tion­al weight throw record with a heave of 18.40m at the IC4A In­door Cham­pi­onships in Boston, Mass­a­chu­setts re­cent­ly. The 2008 Carif­ta Dis­cus cham­pi­on fin­ished sev­enth. Stew­art added 39cm to the pre­vi­ous best of 18.01m he es­tab­lished at the Mid East­ern Ath­let­ic Cham­pi­onships on Feb­ru­ary 17.

John and All­sop win last Qual­i­fi­er meet

Sum­mit League dou­ble in­door cham­pi­on Deb­o­rah John won the 60m hur­dles crown at the Iowa State Qual­if­er at the Ames, Iowa. The North Dako­ta stu­dent clocked 8.36 to add to her 60m/60mH tri­umph at the Sum­mit League Cham­pi­onships two weeks ago. John was al­so fourth in the 60m flat in 7.61. Zwede He­witt was run­ner up in the men's 400m in 46.40. The time is faster than his per­son­al best of 47.18 set ear­li­er than sea­son but the clock­ing was es­tab­lished on a over­sized track. Sher­mund All­sop (LSU) took the men's 60m dash at the LSU In­vi­ta­tion­al in Ba­ton Rouge, Louisiana in a per­son­al best of 6.82.
