Kudos must go out to Bryan Davis and the Queen's Park cricket factory. Everyone is well aware of the success of Sunil Narine in the IPL this year. Queen's Park Cricket Club swept all titles in 2011 (unprecedented) and was heading to do so again this year. QPCC was perhaps the only club outside of India to have five players in the IPL. Four home-grown and one import-Keiron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Narine, Kevon Cooper (now with T&TEC) and Dwayne Smith (from Barbados).
It would have been six had Darren Bravo (picked by the Deccan Chargers; they really needed him) opted out of the tour to England. With limited resources, this privately run and funded club's cricket programme under Davis, David Furlonge, Gregory Davis and Jeffrey Guillen has produced some of the finest cricketers in the world. Let's not forget that one Brian Charles Lara, although spotted at Harvard Cricket Club, honed his skills at QPCC.
Well done, QPCC, may you continue to be an example to other sporting clubs in the country and the region.
