An es­ti­mat­ed 40,000 fans gath­ered last Sat­ur­day to re­mem­ber Michael Jack­son, the man who changed mu­sic for­ev­er, at the Michael For­ev­er Trib­ute Con­cert in Cardiff, Wales. Lo­cal fans of the late King of Pop will have their op­por­tu­ni­ty to re­mem­ber Jack­son this week­end, when lo­cal pro­mot­ers Gold­point and Par­a­digm En­ter­tain­ment in as­so­ci­a­tion with the Nor­mandie Ho­tel, stage the en­core of the Michael Jack­son Trib­ute Un­der The Trees at the Nor­mandie in St Ann's on Sat­ur­day and Sun­day, start­ing at 6.30 pm. The pro­duc­tion, staged at the Na­tion­al Acad­e­my for the Per­form­ing Arts (NA­PA) last Ju­ly, was an ex­treme­ly cre­ative un­der­tak­ing that un­der­scored the awe­some tal­ent that re­sides in some of our lo­cal en­ter­tain­ers.

Through the use of full cos­tum­ing, spec­tac­u­lar im­pres­sions by lo­cal Michael Jack­son im­per­son­ator An­der­son Duff, and the vo­cal of­fer­ings of R&B groups H2O Ph­lo and 2G, a bi­og­ra­phy of Jack­son's ca­reer was cre­at­ed from the days of the orig­i­nal Jack­son 5 to the pe­ri­od be­fore his un­time­ly pass­ing. The 100 per cent lo­cal pro­duc­tion al­so fea­tured ap­pear­ances by gui­tarist Dax Carter, Tim Starr, and The Kai Sokah Moko Jumbies. Philip Carter will be the fea­tured gui­tarist with the 2G band.

Un­der the cre­ative di­rec­tion of John­ny Gon­salves, the two-hour long pro­duc­tion will al­so show­case the spec­tac­u­lar dance se­quences seen in videos of Jack­son's Thriller and Off The Wall al­bums. Nor­mandie Ho­tel will be of­fer­ing a pre-show din­ner, where pa­trons can dine on a mix­ture of Mediter­ranean and lo­cal cui­sine.
