Open letter to the Minister of National Security: Seek legislation as soon as possible so that rape victims do not have to go to a police station to make a report of rape but can call the police authorities from where it happened. It is ridiculous that a country that boasts of being a developing nation could be so backward. Why must the victims who are already so traumatised have to find their way to a police station and not the police coming to them?
Think about it. The crime scene will be fresh. The police could interview people nearby or an APB could be issued for the rapist with help from the victim, increasing the police's chances of nabbing the criminal.
