Open let­ter to the Min­is­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty: Seek leg­is­la­tion as soon as pos­si­ble so that rape vic­tims do not have to go to a po­lice sta­tion to make a re­port of rape but can call the po­lice au­thor­i­ties from where it hap­pened. It is ridicu­lous that a coun­try that boasts of be­ing a de­vel­op­ing na­tion could be so back­ward. Why must the vic­tims who are al­ready so trau­ma­tised have to find their way to a po­lice sta­tion and not the po­lice com­ing to them?

Think about it. The crime scene will be fresh. The po­lice could in­ter­view peo­ple near­by or an APB could be is­sued for the rapist with help from the vic­tim, in­creas­ing the po­lice's chances of nab­bing the crim­i­nal.
