The Forever Star Wars exhibition, hosted on November 9 at Arnim’s Art Galleria, 27 Tragarete Road, Port-of-Spain, and presented by Justice Gillian Lucky, drew Star Wars enthusiasts from all walks of life—across generations and social backgrounds. The unique showcase was specially designed to create an unforgettable experience for fans, unite those who share a love for the legendary saga, and raise funds for worthy causes.
Justice Lucky, a devoted Star Wars fan since childhood, said her fascination began early and grew into a lifelong passion for collecting memorabilia inspired by the universe created by filmmaker George Lucas.
The exhibition proved to be a tremendous success, raising $40,000 for charity.
Among the beneficiaries are 40 primary schools nationwide, as well as the South Brownies and Girl Guides movement, which Lucky said was chosen “because they do great work with young people.” She added that part of the proceeds will also go towards honouring the late Irma Seepersad, who dedicated decades of service to those youth groups. Instead of the usual artist talk, attendees were treated to lively discussions as Star Wars fans shared stories about their encounters with actors and characters at conventions abroad.
The event attracted several notable guests, including Justices Ricky Rahim, Geoffrey Henderson, Nadia Kangaloo, and Nirala Bansee-Sookhai and her husband Parvin, Masters Sydelle Johnson and Rehanna Hosein, Jamie Philbert, members of the Smart family, Dr Neale Bhagwandass and family, and Kiran Maharaj.
Lucky said attendees were enthusiastic and deeply impressed by the exhibition. Many requested that similar events be held at other venues across Trinidad and in Tobago.
“They enjoyed the trivia, the audience participation was excellent, and there was a steady flow of visitors throughout the day—including many young people,” she said.
