On Saturday, January 27, Sky 99.5 FM Reloaded will present Spin Class: The Gospel Burnout.
According to Joel Morris, the head of content, programming & promotions–Radio & GM Technologies at Guardian Media Limited, it will be an event that is “full of fitness, faith, and fun.” He said it promises to be a departure from the ordinary, infusing a ‘Christian’ spin into the typical fitness aerobics setting. The on-air shifts will engage in spirited competition, all vying for the coveted title of Champion.
At the ‘Gospel Burnout’, participants are encouraged to make a bold statement by wearing the colour that represents the on-air shift they support: ‘The Cruise’ (blue), ‘The Shuttle’ (black), ‘Main Street’ (green), ‘The Gridlock’ (red), ‘The Junction’ (grey), and ‘The Weekend Avengers’ (orange) - a dynamic combination of the weekend shifts. This would also mark the first official outdoor in-person activity for SKY99.5FM reloaded for 2024.
Morris added, “Sky 99.5 FM Reloaded is a positive influence in society, we believe it’s important to engage with the community and assist by offering solutions to everyday challenges. Health is a major challenge affecting T&T and the world. SKY 99.5 FM reloaded intends to play its part to reduce this challenge while spreading the message of the gospel through music and ministry.”
This event is open to the public, and all active listeners of Sky 99.5 FM reloaded. Morris further explained , “Your level of fitness does not matter all are welcome.”
Experienced local fitness instructors Keron Isaac and Jessica James will be leading participants in the fitness challenges of the day.
Brandon Best, Presenter and Lead Consultant at Sky 99.5 FM reloaded, expressed the importance of Christians enjoying themselves during the Carnival season.
“We know that the country is currently in Carnival mode, and while the church would traditionally have church camp on the Carnival weekend, it’s important for us (Sky99.5fm) to show the world that Christians can have fun too, in a way that is uplifting, encouraging, people-driven, and pleasing to God. Christians are people too,” said Best.
The timing of the Gospel Burnout event capitalises on the growing public interest in fitness and well-being after the New Year, particularly at a time when people are seeking positive, healthy activities and lifestyles.
Brandon explained, “Such initiatives are pivotal for Sky99.5 FM reloaded as they exemplify the station’s commitment to community well-being, aligning with its core values of developing the body, mind, and spirit, and enhancing its brand identity. This fosters a sense of unity and engagement among listeners, thereby strengthening the bond between the station and its audience.”
Sponsors of the event include Tranquility Beauty Spa, Angostura Chill, Crystal Waters, Little Caesars, Jose Perez Coffee and Alrogo Limited. ‘Spin Class: The Gospel Burn Out’ will take place at the Guardian Media carpark on St Vincent Street, Port-of-Spain, from 3 to 6 pm.
As spaces are limited for this free event, those interested are encouraged to secure their spots by texting their full name and the shift they are supporting to the station’s WhatsApp number 333-9950.
