On Sat­ur­day, Jan­u­ary 27, Sky 99.5 FM Re­loaded will present Spin Class: The Gospel Burnout.

Ac­cord­ing to Joel Mor­ris, the head of con­tent, pro­gram­ming & pro­mo­tions–Ra­dio & GM Tech­nolo­gies at Guardian Me­dia Lim­it­ed, it will be an event that is “full of fit­ness, faith, and fun.” He said it promis­es to be a de­par­ture from the or­di­nary, in­fus­ing a ‘Chris­t­ian’ spin in­to the typ­i­cal fit­ness aer­o­bics set­ting. The on-air shifts will en­gage in spir­it­ed com­pe­ti­tion, all vy­ing for the cov­et­ed ti­tle of Cham­pi­on.

At the ‘Gospel Burnout’, par­tic­i­pants are en­cour­aged to make a bold state­ment by wear­ing the colour that rep­re­sents the on-air shift they sup­port: ‘The Cruise’ (blue), ‘The Shut­tle’ (black), ‘Main Street’ (green), ‘The Grid­lock’ (red), ‘The Junc­tion’ (grey), and ‘The Week­end Avengers’ (or­ange) - a dy­nam­ic com­bi­na­tion of the week­end shifts. This would al­so mark the first of­fi­cial out­door in-per­son ac­tiv­i­ty for SKY99.5FM re­loaded for 2024.

Mor­ris added, “Sky 99.5 FM Re­loaded is a pos­i­tive in­flu­ence in so­ci­ety, we be­lieve it’s im­por­tant to en­gage with the com­mu­ni­ty and as­sist by of­fer­ing so­lu­tions to every­day chal­lenges. Health is a ma­jor chal­lenge af­fect­ing T&T and the world. SKY 99.5 FM re­loaded in­tends to play its part to re­duce this chal­lenge while spread­ing the mes­sage of the gospel through mu­sic and min­istry.”

This event is open to the pub­lic, and all ac­tive lis­ten­ers of Sky 99.5 FM re­loaded. Mor­ris fur­ther ex­plained , “Your lev­el of fit­ness does not mat­ter all are wel­come.”

Ex­pe­ri­enced lo­cal fit­ness in­struc­tors Keron Isaac and Jes­si­ca James will be lead­ing par­tic­i­pants in the fit­ness chal­lenges of the day.

Bran­don Best, Pre­sen­ter and Lead Con­sul­tant at Sky 99.5 FM re­loaded, ex­pressed the im­por­tance of Chris­tians en­joy­ing them­selves dur­ing the Car­ni­val sea­son.

“We know that the coun­try is cur­rent­ly in Car­ni­val mode, and while the church would tra­di­tion­al­ly have church camp on the Car­ni­val week­end, it’s im­por­tant for us (Sky99.5fm) to show the world that Chris­tians can have fun too, in a way that is up­lift­ing, en­cour­ag­ing, peo­ple-dri­ven, and pleas­ing to God. Chris­tians are peo­ple too,” said Best.

The tim­ing of the Gospel Burnout event cap­i­talis­es on the grow­ing pub­lic in­ter­est in fit­ness and well-be­ing af­ter the New Year, par­tic­u­lar­ly at a time when peo­ple are seek­ing pos­i­tive, healthy ac­tiv­i­ties and lifestyles.

Bran­don ex­plained, “Such ini­tia­tives are piv­otal for Sky99.5 FM re­loaded as they ex­em­pli­fy the sta­tion’s com­mit­ment to com­mu­ni­ty well-be­ing, align­ing with its core val­ues of de­vel­op­ing the body, mind, and spir­it, and en­hanc­ing its brand iden­ti­ty. This fos­ters a sense of uni­ty and en­gage­ment among lis­ten­ers, there­by strength­en­ing the bond be­tween the sta­tion and its au­di­ence.”
