Tal­ent scout Roy Gomez of RG’s Mu­si­cal Pro­duc­tion and Ser­vices put tal­ent­ed young peo­ple in the spot­light for the con­cert, The Light, A Sym­bol of Hope, Wis­dom, and Good­ness, at the Na­parmia Boys’ Col­lege Au­di­to­ri­um in San Fer­nan­do.

He said the event was an op­por­tu­ni­ty for sea­soned per­form­ers to con­tin­ue their de­vel­op­ment in the per­form­ing arts, as well as for those who are new to the stage to de­vel­op con­fi­dence.

“What I have dis­cov­ered over the years is that there are a lot of tal­ent­ed youths through­out the coun­try.

“This plat­form gives them that op­por­tu­ni­ty to be­lieve in them­selves be­cause a lot of times it is more fear than a lack of abil­i­ty that pre­vents them from achiev­ing their true po­ten­tial,” he said.

Gomez, who hopes to de­vel­op a mu­si­cal the­atre pro­duc­tion, said he is con­cerned about the lack of sup­port for the per­form­ing arts in T&T and ap­pealed to the rel­e­vant gov­ern­ment min­istries and the cor­po­rate com­mu­ni­ty to in­vest in the de­vel­op­ment of the na­tion’s tal­ent­ed young peo­ple.
