New director added to Plipdeco board

One month af­ter a ma­jor shake­up of the Point Lisas Port De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion Ltd (PLIPDE­CO) board of di­rec­tors, fol­low­ing the res­ig­na­tion of its chair­man, his deputy and three oth­er mem­bers, a new di­rec­tor has been ap­point­ed to the board.

The newest di­rec­tor is St Clair O’Neil.

O’Neil’s ap­point­ment, which was an­nounced by the T&T Se­cu­ri­ties and Ex­change Com­mis­sion (TTSEC) yes­ter­day, was ef­fec­tive Ju­ly 8.

On June 17, Ian Ather­ly re­signed as chair­man with im­me­di­ate ef­fect along with four oth­ers.

On that day, Ha­roon Awardy re­signed as deputy chair­man along with Prakash Ram­nar­ine, Ibn Lla­ma DeLeon and Dale Sookoo.

Daniel Dook­ie has now been named as Plipde­co’s new chair­man.

Richar­do Gar­cia, Haydn Jones, Sunil Ma­haraj and Cindy Ma­son have al­so been ap­point­ed to the Plipde­co board.

Charles Per­cy con­tin­ues to serve as a board mem­ber.

Plipde­co made the an­nounce­ment pur­suant to Sec­tion 64(1) of the Se­cu­ri­ties Act 2012.

“The cor­po­ra­tion wish­es to ex­press its grat­i­tude to the out­go­ing di­rec­tors for their ded­i­cat­ed ser­vice to the com­pa­ny and ex­tend a warm wel­come to the new mem­bers of the board of di­rec­tors,” cor­po­rate sec­re­tary Richelle Ly­man stat­ed. Plipde­co record­ed a prof­it of $20.67 mil­lion for the three months end­ed March 31, 2021.
