Martin Douglin, fondly called “MEAD”, journeyed home on Tuesday, 23rd April, 2024, at the Port of Spain General Hospital. He was 89. He was the brother of Margaret, Right Reverend Rawle (Janis) and Ernest Douglin, all deceased. He leaves to mourn his wife, Junette Douglin, and daughter, Margaret Douglin. He was a treasured brotherin-law to Monica, uncle to John (Phyllis) and Richard (Tegest), and great-uncle to Joni, Judah, Kobi, Gabriel, Joel, and Ezana. Martin held a special place in the hearts of his goddaughters Lisa, Krista, and Lorie-Anne. He was a dedicated educator at Queen’s Royal College, where he retired in 1994. Viewing and open tributes will be held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral Chapel on Thursday 2nd May at 5:30pm and the Funeral of the late Martin Douglin will be held on Friday 3rd May at 9:00am at All Saints Anglican Church. The repass will be held at the All Saints Memorial Hall opposite the All Saints Anglican Church immediately after the service until 1:00pm.

REZENDE, RICHARD passed away peacefully on Sunday 24th March, 2024. Son of the late Elmo and Maria Rezende. Husband of Ada Jimmez. Father of Charlene, Damian and Simone. Step daughter of Vanessa Jimmez. Father-in-law of Anil, Trudie and Stefan. Grandfather of Rebecca, Jayna, Adam, Gabriel and Sarah-Jane. Brother of Paula, Wayne, Willard(dec), Denise, Peter, Bruce and Patrice. Loving uncle to many. Funeral mass for the late Richard Rezende takes place at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, St. James, on Tuesday 2nd April, 2024 at 10:00am, followed by private interment.

Zalina Nabbie Ali of Maraval passed away peacefully on 18th February 2024, in her home in Rutherford, NJ, USA, at the age of 96. Daughter of the late Abdul Ghany Nabbie and Hajjin Cadran Nabbie. Beloved wife of the late Carl Ali of St. James. She was the eldest of 10 children, Yacub (dec), Zaitoon, Sulliman (dec), Abdul (dec), Zubida, Ameena, Nazir, Hasmuth (dec), Sher Ali. She left school at an early age to help care for her younger siblings and was an essential part in the building of Nabbie’s Hardware & Transport. She left Trinidad in the 1960’s and migrated to the United States where she and her husband worked to make a life for her children in a new country. She is survived by her 8 children Farook, Saheed, Farida (dec), Carl Jr., Shirley, Fatima, Shahan and Carleen. 14 grandchildren Rebecca, Asif, Khadijah, Abdul-Karim, Miriam, Jameel, Salisha, Johnathan, Shahana, Carl, Mathew, Shazara, Sean and Marilisa and14 great-grandchildren Yasmin, Nathan, Tessa, Dylan, Neela, Aidan, Taran, Hunter, Ava, Jacob, Amir, Anisah, Tristan, and Alaya. Mother-in-law to Charmain, Ann, Raju, Jenny,Narie, Johnny, and Robert. The matriarch of her family, she devoted her life to the teachings of Islam, and instilling those lessons into her family. She was well known for the compassion and care she showed to everyone in her life. She will truly be missed by all who know her.
