A man and his two teenaged sons were ar­rest­ed af­ter East­ern Di­vi­sion of­fi­cers re­port­ed­ly found two firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion and mar­i­jua­na at their To­co home on Mon­day.

The TTPS said an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed in the dis­trict be­tween 1 am and 1 pm, on Mon­day 12 Au­gust 2024, dur­ing which of­fi­cers of the East­ern Di­vi­sion Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit, Task Force, Guard and Emer­gency Branch and Ca­nine Branch, pro­ceed­ed to the home of a 46-year-old sus­pect.

There, a search war­rant was ex­e­cut­ed for firearms and am­mu­ni­tion, dan­ger­ous drugs and dig­i­tal de­vices.

Dur­ing the search, of­fi­cers re­port­ed­ly found one pump ac­tion shot­gun along with five 12-gauge car­tridges, one re­volver, quan­ti­ties of as­sort­ed am­mu­ni­tion, and 2.63 kilo­grammes of mar­i­jua­na.

The man and his two sons, who were in the house at the time of the search, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the drugs and weapons.

Mean­while, in keep­ing with the North­ern Di­vi­sion, North’s Strate­gic Op­er­a­tions Plan, of­fi­cers of the Pin­to Road Po­lice Post con­duct­ed an op­er­a­tion around 2 am to­day, Tues­day 13 Au­gust 2024, in the San­ta Rosa Heights area.

The TTPS said dur­ing the op­er­a­tion, the of­fi­cers ob­served a male sus­pect dressed in tac­ti­cal wear and car­ry­ing an ob­ject that ap­peared to be a ri­fle with at­tach­ments.

As the of­fi­cers ap­proached the sus­pect, he al­leged­ly threw the ob­ject to the ground and ran off. The ob­ject was dis­cov­ered to be an im­i­ta­tion plas­tic and met­al ri­fle with at­tach­ments.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing in­to both cas­es.
