Pupils of the Rampanalgas RC Primary School, located in the northeastern coastline, received nine computer tablets from the Rotary Club of Maraval to assist their remedial programme. The donation which was made earlier this month at the Hotel Normandie, Port-of-Spain, has been lauded by the school’s principal.

“This is a dream come true for the remedial programme at our school,” says Nina Ali, principal of the primary school.

She said for the past three years the school has embarked on a literacy programme to stem the culture of illiteracy and low or no SEA placements from the small community of Rampanalgas.

The literacy programme, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Maraval and under the direction of Rotarian Mary Charles, has seen an improvement in the performance of children at Standard 1 and Standard 3, according to a release from the Rotary Club.
