Un­fazed by the po­lice, par­ents of St Do­minic's RC Pri­ma­ry and res­i­dents staged an­oth­er fiery protest in Pe­nal call­ing on the au­thor­i­ties to build a new school.

Their ac­tion came a day af­ter of­fi­cials held a meet­ing and sug­gest­ed that the stu­dents be re­lo­cat­ed to the Pe­nal Fire Sta­tion and an­oth­er pri­ma­ry school.

"We doh want that. We want a new school," shout­ed a pro­test­er. Sev­er­al ar­eas in Pe­nal Rock Road, Church Street, and La­choos Road are blocked.

De­spite the heavy po­lice pres­ence, the pro­test­ers burned de­bris and blocked ve­hic­u­lar traf­fic.

Par­ents be­gan protest­ing last week af­ter they com­plained about un­safe con­di­tions at the Pe­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Cen­tre where some stu­dents were re­lo­cat­ed in 2017 af­ter an earth­quake dam­aged the build­ing.
