In yet another gas station robbery, a straw hat robber and three accomplices held up attendants at a Barrackpore gas station and robbed them of $4,800 in cash.
Police said around 8:15 pm, Prakash Jailal, 44, a shift supervisor employed with NP Service station was conducting sales at New Colonial Road Barrackpore when the four robbers walked in. Two of them were carrying guns.
They ordered Jailal to hand over the cash and he complied. The thieves then snatched the $4,800 and ran out of the service station, heading south of the compound.
They then boarded a silver-grey AD wagon which was parked a short distance. Witnesses called the police and provided the vehicle registration number.
A wireless transmission was sent for all officers to be on the lookout for the car. Sgt Dhunkarie and PC Silochan visited the scene and obtained footage of the robbery. A manhunt is still on for the suspects.
