The Prime Min­is­ter can­not be viewed with cred­i­bil­i­ty if state­ments from her of­fice are in­cor­rect, Op­po­si­tion PNM MP Amery Browne said yes­ter­day. Call­ing for full dis­clo­sure on how the mis­take had arisen on the OPM's state­ments on the SIA is­sue, Browne asked:

"If Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty ad­vis­er (Gary) Grif­fith and the PM did not make the er­ror in the state­ment, then who did? "Once again the PM is on the line and if we can­not re­ly on of­fi­cial re­leas­es from the Prime Min­is­ter's of­fice we can­not re­ly on any­thing Gov­ern­ment says, he said.

"How can OPM state­ments be trust­ed again? "There have been so many mis-state­ments, con­tra­dic­tions, 'in­ad­ver­tent wrong im­pres­sions,' dou­ble­s­peak and false apolo­gies from this ad­min­is­tra­tion that they can­not be trust­ed. "It is ob­vi­ous that they thought that Gov­ern­ment was easy and easy to be a Prime Min­is­ter, but they are demon­strat­ing that they clear­ly can't han­dle it."
