San Fer­nan­do CID is seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance in find­ing a 45-year-old man, whose burnt rental car was found af­ter he went miss­ing on Tues­day.

Wade Charles, of Palmiste, was last seen leav­ing the South­ern Med­ical Pri­vate Hos­pi­tal along Quen­ca Street, San Fer­nan­do, at about 9.25 pm. He had been vis­it­ing his wife, who is a pa­tient at the hos­pi­tal.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors were told that he left dri­ving a white Nis­san Ver­sa, reg­is­tra­tion PDS 7816, which he rent­ed from Kalloos Au­to Rental in Pi­ar­co.

Calls to his cell phone were unan­swered and GPS track­ing led in­ves­ti­ga­tors to a grav­el road off the north­bound lane of the Solomon Ho­choy High­way, near the Guaracara Re­fin­ing Com­pa­ny, Pointe-a-Pierre. The car was gut­ted, but po­lice were able to re­trieve the reg­is­tra­tion plate, which con­firmed it was the same car Charles had rent­ed. How­ev­er, he was nowhere to be found.

The car was wrecked from the site and tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do CID com­pound, where crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors are ex­pect­ed to process it for ev­i­dence.

Wade Charles is ap­prox­i­mate­ly five-feet-eight-inch­es (5’8”) tall and weighs ap­prox­i­mate­ly 230 lbs. He has a dark brown com­plex­ion and a heav­i­ly built physique. His hair is black and cut in a low hair­style, and he has a short black beard and brown eyes.

Wade Charles was last seen wear­ing a white long-sleeve shirt, a pair of long black pants and a pair of black shoes.
