Three men were arrested when Central Police Station (CPS) officers on mobile patrol in the Port-of-Spain district managed to foil a robbery in progress at a popular store on Charlotte Street, on Saturday 7 November 2020.

According to official police reports, officers on mobile patrol received a call that a robbery was in progress on Charlotte Street at approximately 2:40 pm on Saturday.

The officers responded immediately to the report, and also enlisted the assistance of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services (TTFS) to use of one of their appliances, as the suspects were seen on the roof of the building.

The TTPS release explains that once the fire truck arrived, police officers successfully climbed up the façade of the building to the roof top and apprehended the suspects.

The suspects were taken to CPS where charges were laid.

Three men were arrested: a 54-year-old of Riverside Plaza; a 33-year-old of Red Hill Road Extension, Morvant; and a 24-year-old of Sinnette Drive, Diego Martin.

Police officers involved in the exercise included Cpls Collins and Francis, along with PCs Charles, Creed, Bristol and WPC Mc Leod. Also on the crime scene were officers attached to the Inter Agency Task Force and Municipal Police.
