COVID deaths close to another grim milestone

Nine more peo­ple lost their bat­tle with COVID-19, bring­ing the to­tal num­ber of deaths to 294 yes­ter­day, just six shy of the grim 300 mile­stone.

The Min­istry of Health yes­ter­day re­porter 294 news COVID cas­es, tak­ing the ac­tive num­ber of cas­es to 5,885 very close to 6,000.

Ac­cord­ing to the min­istry, those who lost their lives to the virus all had co­mor­bidi­ties and in­cludes four el­der­ly males, one mid­dle-aged male, two el­der­ly fe­males and two mid­dle-aged fe­males.

May has gone down on record as the dead­liest month since the pan­dem­ic be­gan in this coun­try in March 2020 and al­so ac­counts for the most cas­es record­ed in any sin­gle month.
