During the current cut and thrust of political debates during the ongoing General Election battle, politicians have been delivering some gems and jabs on the hustings. Today, we continue to deliver some of the statements that may have been missed.

"Something is happening and you know something is happening when people - some of the most unlikely - telling you yellow is the code ... so PNM could do what dey want, dey could say what dey want, dey could call us what dey want - as long as dey don’t call us collect ..."
Patriotic Front Couva North candidate Mickela Panday at last Sunday's San Fernando meeting:
"Both the Government and the Opposition have continuously failed to address our nation's most critical issues. The shift has begun. The old politics has failed us ... the Patriotic Front isn't red or yellow, we're all the colours of every home, family and community..."
PNM St Ann's East candidate Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly:
"Barataria San Juan! Although I represent St Ann's East, my navel string bury in Barataria San Juan! I'm still a resident of Sunshine Avenue! Time to bring it home ... Tell them; Saddam - nothing! We voting for Yunus!”
UNC Mayaro candidate Nicholas Morris at last Saturday’s Rio Claro meeting:
For the last 10 years, you waited for jobs and all you got was 50,000 job losses … Mayaro, you have a duty to stand up to PNM and Stuart Young! He crashed the energy sector and Galeota and that suffered Mayaro for 10 years ! He crippled Mayaro - you must cripple him politically on April 28!”
PNM leader Dr Keith Rowley at last Friday's San Juan meeting:
"I want to tell that little walk and wine twit there’s a big difference between selling a car and tiefing a car - I’m ready, willing and able to deal with the DPP and anybody else for anything I sell. I'm afraid they can’t say the same thing. Imagine being accused of corruption - by the UNC! So, I'll tell Saddam Hosein tonight - Go to Hell!"
