A few stakeholders in the private sector have joined forces to host a free online initiative titled: The Pandemic of Performance—a webinar series available to anyone gravely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The regional initiative which would be presented in the form of themed workshops, aimed at guiding small businesses and the layman on how to turn adversity into personal and professional advancement is the combined brainchild of three entities—Guardian Group and Ross Advertising/ReThink, in collaboration with the University for Peace (UP), established by the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Over two weeks beginning on April 21, the team will host a series of webinars focusing on entrepreneurship, branding, and inspiration.

In a virtual meeting Friday, the organisers explained the initiative was made accessible to the public as many were really struggling to adjust or even survive during the global crisis.

Ayesha Boucaud-Claxton Head of Group Branding and Communications at Guardian Group said the initiative was built upon three pillars— mental health, innovation and creativity, and entrepreneurship and branding.

The webinars will be facilitated by a group of internationally renowned thinkers along with the local founder of Rethink and the Intangience initiative, Ernie Ross —all of whom will take participants through the reshaping, retooling, and resetting of their emotional, mental and professional capacities. Some participants, if necessary, would even have the opportunity of reserving individual sessions. And there was no limit to the number of courses engaged by any one individual. Participants only needed to visit www.intangience.com to register.

Ross during his contribution said everyone had a need, be it personal or professional, and identifying that would help in addressing what was important.

“Whether you are a housewife trying to turn your business around, you lost a job, you’re an emerging brand or business struggling to survive in these trying times. Or you’re an individual…even a young person trying to figure out, how do I be innovative with these circumstances. We’ve carefully spared no expense in bringing some of the world’s best in this particular regard.”

He said it was high time the playing field was levelled and via the Pandemic of Performance webinar series, the “small man” when it came to emerging businesses, would have access to the Intangience methodology that would help them to thrive even in times of crisis.

For participants in need of shifting, realigning, rediscovering, or redefining their educational possibilities as the world changes, that’s where the University for Peace comes in.

In her brief presentation, Julia Delafield Co-director at UP Center for Executive Education said, she believed the Pandemic of Performance initiative was not only timely but very useful to the Caribbean.

“We believe that the Pandemic of Performance will have a huge impact on the Caribbean region in these very difficult times, of which we are in very dire need. The university is proud to be a part of this initiative and be able to work within the region for a better future,” said Delafield.
