Investigations continue into the death of a four-year-old girl in Sea Lots, which occurred on Thursday afternoon.
Police said the child’s stepfather discovered she was not breathing and called an ambulance. Emergency Health Service (EHS) workers took the girl and her stepfather to the Mt Hope Hospital, where staff attempted to resuscitate her but were unsuccessful.
She was declared dead at 6:07 pm.
Officers from Besson Street Police Station visited Pioneer Drive, Sea Lots, to speak with the girl’s stepfather but were unable to locate him.
Police also tried to contact the child’s biological parents but had not reached them by Thursday night.
Besson Street Police are continuing their enquiries.
