Holy Name Convent in Port-of Spain will be hosting “A Lenten Rennaissance”, a Lenten-themed concert on March 17 at 7 pm at the school’s Marian Hall. This concert features some of the country’s best talent such as steel pan virtuoso Johann Chuckaree, renowned tenors Raymond Edwards and Nigel Floyd, parang queen Alicia Jagessar, veteran alternative and rock musician Nigel Rojas, and noted singer/songwriter and guitarist, Ian Joseph as well as the dynamic and talented Enrico Camejo. Holy Name is also very proud to welcome back its alumni, the evergreen and indomitable Denyse Plummer and exceptional soloists Candice Alcantara and Natasha Babwah Tim Kee to their home stage. Patrons will also be treated to a rare appearance by past members of the beloved Goretti Group, the group that has provided our favourite musical soundtrack such as “Hear O Lord” and “Sing out my Soul” as well as the school’s choir, parang group and much more. The cast will be ably supported by producer and musician Jason Dasent. School memorabilia will also be on sale.
All proceeds go towards the construction of a new building for the school, the Sister Bernadette de la Bastide Wing housing the Sister Helen Gomes Auditorium. All are invited.
Tickets cost $200 and are available at the school or at Kitchen Corner, Long Circular Mall. Please call 623-8168 for more information or check out the school’s website or Facebook page or e-mail hncprincipal@gmail.com for further details.
