Holy Name Con­vent in Port-of Spain will be host­ing “A Lenten Ren­nais­sance”, a Lenten-themed con­cert on March 17 at 7 pm at the school’s Mar­i­an Hall. This con­cert fea­tures some of the coun­try’s best tal­ent such as steel pan vir­tu­oso Jo­hann Chucka­ree, renowned tenors Ray­mond Ed­wards and Nigel Floyd, parang queen Ali­cia Jages­sar, vet­er­an al­ter­na­tive and rock mu­si­cian Nigel Ro­jas, and not­ed singer/song­writer and gui­tarist, Ian Joseph as well as the dy­nam­ic and tal­ent­ed En­ri­co Came­jo. Holy Name is al­so very proud to wel­come back its alum­ni, the ever­green and in­domitable Denyse Plum­mer and ex­cep­tion­al soloists Can­dice Al­can­tara and Natasha Bab­wah Tim Kee to their home stage. Pa­trons will al­so be treat­ed to a rare ap­pear­ance by past mem­bers of the beloved Goret­ti Group, the group that has pro­vid­ed our favourite mu­si­cal sound­track such as “Hear O Lord” and “Sing out my Soul” as well as the school’s choir, parang group and much more. The cast will be ably sup­port­ed by pro­duc­er and mu­si­cian Ja­son Dasent. School mem­o­ra­bil­ia will al­so be on sale.

All pro­ceeds go to­wards the con­struc­tion of a new build­ing for the school, the Sis­ter Bernadette de la Bastide Wing hous­ing the Sis­ter He­len Gomes Au­di­to­ri­um. All are in­vit­ed.
