The Trinidad and To­ba­go Elec­tric­i­ty Com­mis­sion (T&TEC) has ad­vised in a state­ment that from to­mor­row, Thurs­day, lights at recre­ation grounds across the coun­try will be tak­en off to dis­cour­age pub­lic gath­er­ings.

Here is the full state­ment be­low:

Ef­fec­tive to­mor­row, March 19, the lights in­stalled on recre­ation grounds across Trinidad will not come on at dusk as nor­mal.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Elec­tric­i­ty Com­mis­sion (T&TEC) has tak­en this de­ci­sion to as­sist the coun­try in its ef­forts to­wards re­duc­ing the spread of Covid-19, by dis­cour­ag­ing gath­er­ings at pub­lic spaces.

The de­ci­sion will re­main in ef­fect un­til fur­ther no­tice and ap­plies on­ly to recre­ation grounds.

T&TEC thanks cit­i­zens for their un­der­stand­ing dur­ing this dif­fi­cult time.
