RHON­DOR DOWLAT-ROS­TANT

A 43-year-old man from Diego Mar­tin is in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion at the In­ten­sive Care Unit of the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, af­ter he was at­tacked dur­ing a game of cards on Sat­ur­day night.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the in­ci­dent took place some­time be­tween 9 pm and mid­night on Sat­ur­day at La Puer­ta Av­enue, Diego Mar­tin.

Po­lice said the man (of River­side Dri­ve, La Puer­ta Av­enue, Diego Mar­tin) was lim­ing with a group of friends and al­leged­ly gam­bling cards when he got in­to a heat­ed ar­gu­ment with one of the play­ers. It is al­leged that the vic­tim was sub­se­quent­ly struck with a blunt ob­ject to the head and as a re­sult sus­tained ex­ten­sive in­juries.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands an of­fi­cial re­port of this in­ci­dent is yet to be made to the po­lice, how­ev­er, an in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to the in­ci­dent is un­der way.
