A man was left nurs­ing gun­shot in­juries af­ter a gun-tot­ing as­sailant at­tacked him in Laven­tille on Mon­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said around 4 pm, the man was walk­ing along Old St Joseph Road when the gun­man ap­proached him and opened fire.

The vic­tim was shot in the left shoul­der, but the in­juries were not life-threat­en­ing.

He was tak­en to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal for med­ical treat­ment.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
