A 53-year-old me­chan­i­cal en­gi­neer was shot dead in Carlsen Field on Tues­day evening.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Raidal Per­sad of Ti­gress Road, Riverview Park, Mon­trose, Ch­agua­nas. He worked at Methanex Ltd.

Around 5.45 pm, of­fi­cers at the Freeport Po­lice Sta­tion re­ceived a call from an anony­mous in­for­mant about a man shot in a white Au­di at Pipecon Road, Carlsen Field.

When of­fi­cers ar­rived around 6.09 pm, they found a white Au­di, reg­is­tra­tion num­ber PCY 7025, fac­ing north. In­side, Per­sad was slumped over the dri­ver’s seat wear­ing a blue jer­sey and navy blue three-quar­ter pants.
