A dou­ble homi­cide is un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion fol­low­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in Laven­tille on Fri­day.

The vic­tims are Wal­ter John of Bagatelle Road in San Juan and West­ern Main Road in Care­nage and Ce­line Saman­tha Chadee.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, the in­ci­dent oc­curred around 3:30 pm when John, ac­com­pa­nied by Chadee, was dri­ving a grey Hyundai Elantra along Plai­sance Quar­ry Road.

As the ve­hi­cle ap­proached Cana­da Plan­nings, sev­er­al armed men emerged from un­known di­rec­tions and opened fire, strik­ing John.

The at­tack caused John to lose con­trol of the car, which sub­se­quent­ly crashed in­to a drain on the west­ern side of the road.

Both John and Chadee were pro­nounced dead at the scene. 

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing their in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to the in­ci­dent.
