A 48-year-old me­chan­ic was grant­ed bail in the sum of $85,000 with a sure­ty, when he ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Adri­an Dar­manie, at the Ch­agua­nas Mag­is­trates’ Court on Thurs­day, af­ter he was charged with breach of a pro­tec­tion or­der and in­de­cent as­sault.

The ac­cused is ex­pect­ed to reap­pear in court on March 14, 2023.

A po­lice re­port stat­ed that on Fri­day Feb­ru­ary 3, a cou­ple was at their home when it’s al­leged that they had an al­ter­ca­tion, dur­ing which time, the woman was sex­u­al­ly as­sault­ed.

The in­ci­dent was lat­er re­port­ed to the Spe­cial Vic­tims De­part­ment and an in­ves­ti­ga­tion was con­duct­ed.

Dur­ing the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, the of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered that a pro­tec­tion or­der was is­sued in June 2022.

The ac­cused was sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed and charged on Feb­ru­ary 15 with breach of pro­tec­tion or­der and in­de­cent as­sault.
