In the Mayaro administrative district, the Mafeking River was measured at 40% capacity. A total of 60 sandbags were distributed to help mitigate any further impact from the rainfall.

The Biche administrative district recorded the lowest river levels so far, with the Canque, Plum Mitan and Charuma Rivers at 20%, 25% and 20% capacity respectively. However, the area saw the highest number of weather-related incidents. A tree fell on a house in Charuma Village, prompting a response from the DMU, who conducted an assessment and removed the obstruction. Another tree blocked the Cunapo Southern Main Road at Kowllessar Trace, Biche, but it was cleared by a coordinated team from the DMU, T&TEC, and the Ministry of Works.

Field officers have been deployed throughout the region and are conducting IDAs and Survey123 assessments. The DMU’s monitoring efforts remain ongoing.
