Nine per­sons were ar­rest­ed for var­i­ous of­fences and three firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion were seized by of­fi­cers dur­ing on­go­ing an­ti­crime ex­er­cis­es across sev­er­al Di­vi­sions on Thurs­day.

In the South­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise around 10:30 pm dur­ing which they in­ter­cept­ed a mo­tor ve­hi­cle with two male oc­cu­pants along Ghan­di Vil­lage, Debe.

A search of the ve­hi­cle re­sult­ed in of­fi­cers find­ing a pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine.

The two sus­pects, ages 35 and 28, both of Debe, were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

Mean­while, Task Force of­fi­cers al­so con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise around 5:45 am yes­ter­day, dur­ing which they in­ter­cept­ed a white Ti­i­da mo­tor ve­hi­cle with eight oc­cu­pants.

One of the oc­cu­pants was found to have a re­volver loaded with three rounds of am­mu­ni­tion in his pos­ses­sion fol­low­ing a search of the ve­hi­cle.

The 27-year-old St. Joseph man was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

In the East­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers were on mo­bile pa­trol in the Va­len­cia dis­trict around 8:30 pm on Wednes­day, when they ob­served a

male sus­pect threw an ob­ject un­der a ve­hi­cle parked along the road­way.

One pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 10 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion was sub­se­quent­ly found un­der the ve­hi­cle.

The sus­pect, a 40-year-old man of the area was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

And in the Ma­yaro dis­trict, Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment of­fi­cers along with the Ca­nine Unit pro­ceed­ed to var­i­ous lo­ca­tions

be­tween 2 am and 4 am on Wednes­day.

As a re­sult of their search­es, a 26-year-old Ma­yaro man was held for pos­ses­sion of six rounds of am­mu­ni­tion and re­sist­ing ar­rest.

Ad­di­tion­al­ly, four mi­grants who are in the coun­try il­le­gal­ly were de­tained and the Im­mi­gra­tion au­thor­i­ties were in­formed.
