Mayaro MP Rushton Paray, who led the United Patriots' bid to gain leadership of the UNC's National Executive, says he is ready and willing to continue his work to build the party, as well as the country.
Paray's slate lost the executive elections to the Star Team on Saturday.
However, Paray does not view it as a loss, as he says he is now stronger and better.
“This morning, we are ready to go,” he told Guardian Media. “More than likely today I will issue some communications, and we have Parliament on Friday.”
“One way or the other, we will turn up,” he said. “I am ready to start to work with everybody who has an interest in national development in this country.”
Despite the results, Paray says the United Patriots has done well.
“Although we accepted the results, I won’t call it a defeat,” he stated. “One-third of the votes cast supported the stance that we made.”
The Mayaro MP added: “I want to thank the people of Mayaro who came out in their numbers. My team won all three polling divisions and that is a remarkable feat.”
MP Rushton Paray was a guest on today’s edition of CNC3’s The Morning Brew show.
