The police officer accused of killing siblings Simeon and Siniaya Lessey at the Courts Megastore, San Juan last weekend – has been charged with two counts of murder.

The fatal shooting was the subject of three investigations by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, the Police Complaints Authority and the TTPS Professional Standards Bureau.

Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd, the parent company of Courts Trinidad Limited distanced itself from the furore which it claimed had resulted from a “private financial transaction” that had been taking place on its compound.

In addition to the killing of Simeon, 33, and Siniaya Lessey, 35, Simeon’s wife Kerrey-Ann Moore and family friend Nathan Pierre, were left nursing injuries.
