Police are no closer to finding out the identity of a man found dead on a Scarborough beach two weeks ago or determining how he died.
The decomposing body of the man was discovered around 2.15 pm along the shoreline near Castries Street. Officers on patrol spotted the man’s body among seaweed and called for support.
The man’s face was unrecognisable, and officers could not determine his ethnicity.
An autopsy done last week returned inconclusive results.
Speaking with Guardian Media yesterday, Snr Supt Earl Elie said the autopsy was completed last week but yielded no further information.
He confirmed that police have not received any missing person reports in Tobago that may be linked to the case.“The body was unable to get identified based on the advanced state of decomposition,” he said. “So, inquiries are continuing.”
Police are now hoping someone comes forward to identify the man or provide information that could assist the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Scarborough Police Station or the nearest police post.
Investigations are ongoing.
