Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Row­ley has con­demned the at­tempt­ed as­sas­si­na­tion of for­mer US Pres­i­dent, Don­ald Trump.

In a post to his Face­book page on Sun­day morn­ing, Dr Row­ley said he joined with US Pres­i­dent Biden and House Speak­er Mike John­son in con­demn­ing the vi­o­lence aimed at for­mer Pres­i­dent Trump and en­dan­ger­ing the pub­lic at large.

He wrote, "I too agree that there is ab­solute­ly no place or jus­ti­fi­ca­tion for any as­pect of vi­o­lence in the po­lit­i­cal process and en­vi­ron­ment of a de­mo­c­ra­t­ic so­ci­ety."

The Prime Min­is­ter went fur­ther in say­ing, "Those who might di­rect­ly or in­ad­ver­tent­ly fos­ter and or en­cour­age this out­come should give deep re­flec­tion as to their com­mit­ment to democ­ra­cy as we all cham­pi­on it to the di­ver­si­ty of our pop­u­la­tions."

On Sat­ur­day af­ter­noon, while cam­paign­ing in the bat­tle­ground state of Penn­syl­va­nia, Trump was the tar­get of a 20-year-old gun­man while de­liv­er­ing a speech to his sup­port­ers in the city of But­ler.

He was grazed on the ear and was rushed off the stage by Se­cret Ser­vice agents.
