Princes Town man robbed, murdered attempting to buy a car in Arima

An uniden­ti­fied man was mur­dered at Right­eous Lane in Ari­ma on Tues­day morn­ing when went to the area to pur­chase a ve­hi­cle but in­stead was con­front­ed by a group of armed men, who robbed him.

An­oth­er man who al­so came with the vic­tim was shot and in­jured.

Po­lice said some­time af­ter 11 am res­i­dents heard gun­shots and up­on check­ing saw a man slumped in­side a car parked at the side of the road.

An­oth­er man was seen close by on the ground bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds.

The po­lice were called in and of­fi­cers from the Ari­ma po­lice sta­tion and the Homi­cide Bu­reau re­spond­ed.

The in­jured man was tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal for treat­ment.

Po­lice of­fi­cers have not re­leased the name of the mur­dered man or that of the man who was in­jured.

Po­lice said ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tions re­vealed that the vic­tim and an­oth­er man, both from Princes Town, went to the area to pur­chase a ve­hi­cle for $15,000.

How­ev­er, they were con­front­ed by a group of armed men who robbed them of the mon­ey in­stead and shot at the car be­fore flee­ing the scene.
