A 43-year-old TT Ride Share dri­ver is re­ceiv­ing treat­ment for a gun­shot wound he sus­tained when his car came un­der fire dur­ing a trip ear­ly on Sun­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said the dri­ver was head­ing south on Dun­don­ald Hill, St James, at 12:40 am with a pas­sen­ger in the front seat when they no­ticed a man stand­ing at the side of the road.

The stranger pulled out a gun and shot at the dri­ver, hit­ting him in his left leg.

The dri­ver drove di­rect­ly to the St James Po­lice Sta­tion, where of­fi­cers treat­ed him.

Of­fi­cers of the St James CID vis­it­ed the scene and found nine spent shells and a bul­let frag­ment.

It’s un­clear if the dri­ver or the pas­sen­ger was the in­tend­ed tar­get.
