As another day passed without any contact from missing Chaguanas businessman Imraz “Clubs” Ali, family and friends continued to hold out hope that he is alive.
Day five of extensive searches at Felicity and Charlieville concluded last night, but the Hunters’ Search and Rescue group, led by Vallence Rambharat, was unsuccessful in locating Ali.
Ali, 60, of Ajodha Road, Charlieville, was last seen on September 4 and last heard from on September 5, when his son received a call from Ali’s cell phone and heard him screaming.
Around midday yesterday, Rambharat and his team focused their search off Dump Road, Felicity, after learning the last ping from Ali’s phone had come from a nearby tower.
A local farmer offered to guide the group through the area while members trekked on foot and checked waterways for any clues.
At one point, the team rushed across a muddy embankment after spotting a blue shirt, but it did not match the clothing Ali was last seen wearing.
Rambharat said he could not confirm whether a ransom demand had been made and acknowledged Ali was in poor health.
No one was home when Guardian Media visited Ali’s home.
