As an­oth­er day passed with­out any con­tact from miss­ing Ch­agua­nas busi­ness­man Im­raz “Clubs” Ali, fam­i­ly and friends con­tin­ued to hold out hope that he is alive.

Day five of ex­ten­sive search­es at Fe­lic­i­ty and Char­lieville con­clud­ed last night, but the Hunters’ Search and Res­cue group, led by Val­lence Ramb­harat, was un­suc­cess­ful in lo­cat­ing Ali.

Ali, 60, of Ajod­ha Road, Char­lieville, was last seen on Sep­tem­ber 4 and last heard from on Sep­tem­ber 5, when his son re­ceived a call from Ali’s cell phone and heard him scream­ing.

Around mid­day yes­ter­day, Ramb­harat and his team fo­cused their search off Dump Road, Fe­lic­i­ty, af­ter learn­ing the last ping from Ali’s phone had come from a near­by tow­er.

A lo­cal farmer of­fered to guide the group through the area while mem­bers trekked on foot and checked wa­ter­ways for any clues.

At one point, the team rushed across a mud­dy em­bank­ment af­ter spot­ting a blue shirt, but it did not match the cloth­ing Ali was last seen wear­ing.

Ramb­harat said he could not con­firm whether a ran­som de­mand had been made and ac­knowl­edged Ali was in poor health.

No one was home when Guardian Me­dia vis­it­ed Ali’s home.
